MEET OUR TEAMS:

U14AA:

"This is a group of players that came from several different teams, many of them never playing together before. However, you would never of known from the way they instantly came together as a team, both on and off the ice. Despite coming from teams that did not have winning records last season, from day one, they set high expectations for themselves and worked hard to achieve theirs goals. Every off-ice training, every practice, every game, each player gave 100% and it showed in their success. They have a group of excited and supportive coaches and parents who are ready to guide them and cheer them on through their ECRC experience!

"The Richmond Hill U14AA team is thrilled for the opportunity to represent both their association and province as Team ON2 at this year’s Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships. Despite encountering their fair share of injuries throughout the year, this team has demonstrated remarkable resilience, camaraderie, self-belief and trust in their teammates to rise beyond the challenges they faced this season. With an incredible support team of coaches, trainers, parents, family and friends behind them, they look forward to bringing their very best efforts when they hit the ice in PEI. Let's Go Lightning!"

"What are you looking forward to the most about attending ECRCs?"

For many of the girls, this is their first visit to the Maritimes. They are most looking forward to:

The high level of competition at ECRC

Meeting other players from other teams & making new friends

Travelling to PEI

Eating lobster!

U16A:

"This amazing group of athletes represents the true meaning of determination and resilience. All the girls hail from the southern shores of Lake Huron in small communities known as Forest, Arkona, Watford and Camlachie.

This small group of ladies has been playing together since the years of Fun 1 and Fun 2, and amongst them, we have four sets of siblings (including two sets of twins). All of our second-year players had the honor of representing Team ON last season at the U16 A level, and we are so proud to bring this first-ever back-to-back title at U16 A back to our community of Forest, Ontario.

When you come from a small town where all 15 players that try out, make the team, it comes to question how these players will stand up against some of the larger centers. Despite 2 of our players suffering season ending injuries, these ladies rallied together and set their sights on GOLD. And that they did with a 7 and 0 record and only 5 goals scored against them all tournament!!!

As we head out to PEI for #ECRC2024, the team has their sights set on another great tournament in hopes of representing our small community and Team Ontario with pride.

These talented young athletes have invested everything they have into this team and believe they have a lot more to give out East. “Today is where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten”.

U19A:

"The West Ottawa U19A team is proud to be heading to the Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships as Team Ontario! From the beginning of the season, this team of 13 athletes and 5 bench staff have been working hard to earn themselves the opportunity to represent the province at ECRCs. After an undefeated regular season, and four tournament gold medals, the team was ready to give it all they had at Provincials. An exciting overtime win in the semis earned them a spot in the finals, where the team was able to come together to win the championship! Our team is most looking forward to representing the province, competing against elite teams, and spending time together as a group!  We can’t wait to hit the ice at ECRCs!"

"We are so excited to be attending ECRC’s this year! This will be the first time any of our players have gone to Eastern’s, making it a new and unique experience for all. We are most looking forward to meeting and competing against fellow ringette players from across Eastern Canada, as well as enjoying the sights of PEI. Every player on this team has shown their commitment, desire to work hard, and the ability to maintain a positive mindset when working to overcome new challenges. As many of our players are in their last year of ringette at the U19 level, we are looking forward to spending this time together for one final Hurrah!"

18+AA:

"The Durham Flames Ringette Club is an independent one team adult organization within Ringette Ontario. Based out of Central Region, we have existed for over ten years, starting as an Open A team and moving up to Open AA about 5 years ago.  We draw adult players from diverse backgrounds and ages, ranging from 21yrs to 42 yrs. Our members come from ringette legacies that include play at the AA, AAA, NRL and National level. Our mission is to allow the opportunity for elite adult players to continue to pursue excellence in the sport of ringette while somehow navigating the endless challenges of careers and families.  We are proud of the fact that many of our members also give back to the sport through coaching and supporting our local associations.

There is much about this edition of the ECRCs that we are looking forward to enjoying. First of all the hospitality of the Island people.  While one of our coaches grew up as an east coaster, for many of us this is an inaugural  trip to your home. We also look forward to the challenges of outstanding competition as we attempt to build upon last year's bronze medal performance.  It is very difficult to come out of Ontario at our level of play so we wish to make the most of this opportunity."
